Company looks to strengthen operations and customer experience using a unified data and AI platform.
Tata Power has announced that it will adopt the platform of Databricks across its business to speed up its data and AI journey.
The move is part of Tata Power’s larger plan to modernise operations as it expands in areas like renewable energy, smart grids and consumer-facing services. With this, the company is trying to build a strong data system that can support faster decision-making and better efficiency.
The new platform will help the Company in areas such as grid management, power planning, billing systems and renewable energy forecasting. Tata Power claims this system will improve operations in solar and rooftop businesses and give customers a good experience.
Tata Power has come up with a key feature in this setup, named ‘Genie’, an AI tool that allows employees to interact with company data using simple language.
Speaking on this, Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power said the partnership is an important step towards building a smarter and more future-ready energy ecosystem. He added that data and AI will help the company improve efficiency and deliver better customer-focused solutions.
Nick Eayrs, Vice President of Field Engineering, Databricks says, “The energy sector is undergoing a profound transformation, and data and AI is at the heart of that change. Together, Databricks and Tata Power are building a unified and scalable platform that brings together data, apps, analytics, and AI agents – enabling faster innovation and more resilient, data-driven energy systems.”
