COEP Tech, Bajaj Auto To Launch ₹130M Skill Centre

Offering interdisciplinary courses in electric mobility and electronics manufacturing, COEP Tech and Bajaj Auto have launched a centre, equipping students with practical skills and industry-recognised certification.

College of Engineering, Pune, Technological University (COEP Tech) has partnered with Bajaj Auto Ltd to establish the Bajaj Engineering Skill Training (BEST) Centre. The company revealed that this makes COEP Tech the first state university in India to host the BEST programme.

Bajaj Auto Ltd will invest ₹130 million to develop the BEST Centre.

The initiative will offer courses as open electives across all engineering branches, encouraging interdisciplinary learning. Students from COEP Tech and other regional engineering colleges can enrol in the programme, widening access to specialised skill training.

Two verticals will form the core of the BEST programme. The electric mobility track will be run by the Department of Electrical Engineering, while the electronics manufacturing systems (EMS) and electronic pre-compliance (EPC) track will be hosted by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Both tracks will be integrated into the BTech curriculum.

Furthermore, the centre will feature state-of-the-art laboratories equipped for hands-on training in electric mobility and electronics systems. Upon completing the programme, students will receive a joint certificate from COEP Tech and Bajaj Auto Ltd.

The collaboration forms part of COEP Tech’s broader vision to position itself as a hub for innovation and global partnerships. The university aims to strengthen industry-academia linkages and deliver future-ready engineering education.
