The government will soon come out with an exclusive electronic hardware policy which will favour the industry by offering incentives and concessions for establishing of units in this sector, says a Hindu Business Line report.
The policy, which is already prepared based on the draft proposals circulated by the Centre to all States, will be released by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the two-day second edition of ‘Advantage AP 2012 being organised on June 21. Andhra Pradesh will be the first State to announce an exclusive electronic hardware policy.
Information Technology & Communications Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that nearly 1,000 delegates from various countries and CEOs of over MNCs would take part in the conference being held by the State government at Hyderabad International Convention Centre in coordination with the IT and ITES Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITsAP) and Electronic Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh (ELIAP).

He said the conference would focus on the theme “AP the most preferred global IT destination” and aim at creating awareness among companies over the business opportunities in IT and ITES sectors in the State and, at the same time, serve as a platform for interaction between IT/ITES companies and its end-users.
Putting the IT industry turnover in the State at Rs 500 billion for 2011-12, including Rs. 360 billion of software exports, the Minister said a comprehensive report on IT industry in Andhra Pradesh would be released at the conference. The turnover was poised for a 16 per cent increase in 2012-13.
