Ubifly Technologies’ e200X eVTOL air taxi inching closer to reality, pacts with HENSOLDT Systems, a German company for avionics systems.
While the ePlane Company recently announced its collaboration with NVIDIA to build a digital twin, the Indian e-VTOL (vertical take off and landing) air taxi has now partnered with a German company HENSOLDT Avionics for sensor solutions and mission management electronics.

HENSOLDT Avionics will equip their aircraft, e200X, with navigation, landing assistance and secure data connectivity systems to support safe and structured operations in urban environments.
With this move, ePlane is now transitioning from a prototyping phase towards a DGCA certifiable commercial aircraft.
The company says, this integration moves the e200X to a full-scale prototype as they are integrating HENSOLDT’s advanced avionics suite, a digital nervous system, designed for safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency in dense urban environments.
The ePlane’s Founder Prof. Satya Chakravarthy says building a certifiable eVTOL requires integration of highly advanced subsystems into a single, harmonious platform. Speaking on the partnership, he further adds, “By partnering with HENSOLDT, we aren’t just buying components; we are integrating a legacy of aviation safety into the DNA of the e200x.”
Avionics Scope for e200X
Under this partnership, company will procure and integrate an extended suite of avionics that will serve as the eyes and ears of their aircraft.
What are the new integrations?
– A digital moving map EuroNav 7 Next Gen for city navigation amidst the skyscrapers
-A visual landing aid CaviSight for better vision during rooftop helipad landings
– A collision avoidance system, namely, RF1 Smart Antenna to enable traffic awareness
– CaviConnect system for datalink between ground station and aircraft for fleet management
All these steps are important for ePlane to get the nod of aviation regulator DGCA.
“We are proud to support ePlane in their mission to alleviate urban congestion. Our avionics are designed for the most demanding missions, and the operational profile of an eVTOL in India is the ultimate proving ground. Together, we are defining the standards for situational awareness in the Advanced Air Mobility sector”, said Michael Groeninger, Managing Director, HENSOLDT Avionics.
