Covering 2300 km from Bengaluru to New Delhi, Greaves Electric Mobility’s Ampere Magnus Neo set a record for the longest journey by a family electric scooter.
Greaves Electric Mobility’s electric scooter Ampere Magnus Neo recently completed a record-setting journey of approximately 2300 kilometres. The journey, which took eight days and took place from Bengaluru to New Delhi, has secured a place in the India Book of Records for the “Longest Journey by a City-Speed Family Electric Scooter.”
The ride aimed to combat range anxiety and promote the adoption of electric vehicles in India.
According to Greaves, the Magnus Neo, an upgraded version of the popular Ampere Magnus, is designed to embody the philosophy of ‘The Power of More.’ It comes equipped with an advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a certified range of over 100 km per charge, with a top speed of 65 km/h. Additionally, the e-scooter boasts a fast-charging time of five to six hours and enhanced stability thanks to its 12-inch alloy wheels.
The journey was inaugurated in Bengaluru by Mr Nagesh Basavanhalli, Non-Executive Vice-Chairman of Greaves Cotton Ltd, alongside K. Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director and CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, and Ram Rajappa, Chief Operating Officer of Greaves Electric Mobility.
Departing on January 6, 2025, from Greaves Electric Mobility’s headquarters in Bengaluru, the Magnus Neo arrived in New Delhi on January 15, 2025, at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo. This ride showcased the scooter’s commendable endurance, navigating various terrains and climates, and highlighted the performance capabilities of electric scooters in India’s diverse conditions.
The scooter passed through numerous towns, including Gooty, Shamsabad, Nagpur, and Narsingpur, before reaching its destination at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The Magnus Neo is priced at ₹79,999 as part of a special introductory offer and is available in five vibrant colours with a premium dual-tone finish. It also comes with a five-year or 75,000 km battery warranty.
