Made-in-India Honor smartphones are set to roll out from Q1 next year, as its partner PSAV Global eyes 1% market share and ₹25 billion revenue in the first year.
PSAV Global, the brand partner of Chinese smartphone company Honor, is preparing to begin local manufacturing of devices in India from the first quarter of 2026. According to a report by PTI, talks are underway with several electronic manufacturing services (EMS) firms to finalise production arrangements.
CP Khandelwal, Co-founder and CEO of PSAV Global, stated that the company aims to capture a 1% share of the Indian smartphone market in its first year of domestic production.
He said that once CKD manufacturing begins, the company’s first-year target is to capture about 1% market share, translating to nearly ₹25 billion in revenue.
Honor is among the fast-growing global smartphone brands, according to Counterpoint Research. Its growth has been particularly strong in markets outside China, where Huawei remained the top original equipment manufacturer in the first quarter of 2025. Motorola and Honor also showed notable expansion in multiple regions.
PSAV Global had initially aimed to begin Indian production in 2024. The plan was delayed due to management changes at Honor’s headquarters and delays in obtaining Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) clearances. Approval has now been granted for four models, allowing manufacturing to move ahead.
Honor recently launched the X9c in India, followed by the X7c. The company is preparing to bring in the Honor V3 and Honor Magic 7 Pro.
Khandelwal confirmed that once the local manufacturing starts, all global models in India will be launched in line with international timelines.
PSAV Global was previously associated with Huawei, before becoming the official partner of Honor Tech in India.
