A step towards a clean energy journey, Juniper Green Energy’s 59MW solar plant, a part of the Karanja hybrid project, gets completed in Maharashtra.
Juniper Green Energy has completed the 59 megawatt peak (MWp) solar component of its 75 megawatt (MW) hybrid power project in Wardha, Maharashtra. Completed on 6 June 2025, this project is now 17 months ahead of schedule.
The hybrid project, named Juniper Green Power Five, also known as the Karanja Hybrid Project combines 75 MW of solar power and 26.4 MW of wind energy. In November last year, the company had signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
Yet, full commercial operation of the project is scheduled for 17 November 2026.
Reflecting on the development, Ankush Malik, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, noted that completing this ahead of schedule, following the timely completion of their other neighbouring venture in Chapalgaon, highlights their ability to manage complex projects and meet tight deadlines.
Juniper Green Energy is a renewable energy producer based in India, involved in the development, construction, and operation of large-scale solar, wind, and hybrid power projects.
According to the company, since its establishment in October 2018, it has expanded its footprint in the clean energy sector, achieving an operational capacity of 1.1 gigawatt peak (GWp).
Moreover, it is also backed by AT Capital Group, a Singapore-based global investment firm with interest in renewable energy, real estate, and hospitality. In India, the AT Capital Group manages Experion Developers and Experion Capital, with a focus on real estate and infrastructure financing.
