A new partnership signals a bigger transformation underway at Motherson beyond auto components manufacturing.
Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd is expanding its footprint in the global automotive components supply chain through a joint venture with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, marking a strategic shift toward integrated supply chain services.
The Dubai-based venture will provide end-to-end logistics solutions for automakers by combining Motherson’s manufacturing scale and OEM relationships with Hellmann’s global logistics network. The initiative aims to streamline component movement, reduce supply disruptions and improve delivery efficiency across vehicle production networks.
The partnership aligns with Motherson’s DEMAL strategy, design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and logistics, enabling the company to extend its role beyond component manufacturing into comprehensive supply-chain management. Integrating logistics is expected to strengthen coordination between suppliers, production facilities and customers.
The joint venture also marks Motherson’s entry into third-party and fourth-party logistics services, covering transportation management, warehousing, supplier coordination and distribution planning alongside its existing components business.
Leveraging Hellmann’s presence across more than 170 countries provides Motherson with immediate global logistics reach without heavy investment in physical infrastructure. The asset-light structure supports faster expansion while maintaining capital efficiency.
Automotive supply chains are becoming increasingly complex amid electrification trends, semiconductor dependencies and geopolitical disruptions. By embedding logistics capabilities into its manufacturing ecosystem, Motherson aims to improve supply chain visibility, minimise delays, and deepen engagement with global automakers.
The logistics expansion supports the company’s Vision 2030 roadmap, which targets significant revenue growth and diversification beyond traditional auto components. Logistics is expected to emerge as a key growth pillar as Motherson positions itself as an integrated industrial and supply-chain partner to the automotive industry.
