Monday, October 13, 2014: During the Global Investors Summit at Indore, experts over the electronic system design and management (ESDM) subject stated that Madhya Pradesh is an ideal state for establishment of defence industry and electronic products of other sectors.
AS Pillai, founder of Brahmos Missile, stated that conducive situations in Madhya Pradesh are apt for the development of defence electronics in the state. He emphasised over the growing importance of electronics and told about the Defence Electronics Research Development Organisation (DRDO), which will be situated in Gwalior.while throwing some light over the Brahmos and AGNI missile programmes, he mentioned that not even a single electronics item is manufactures in Madhya Pradesh and thereby advised the entrepreneurs to invest while keeping this in view.
While going further with the subject Union Joint Secretary Electronics Dr Ajay Kumar noted about the facilities and concessions being provided to electronics industry. He said that Madhya Pradesh will have a major role in achieving the net target of zero imports till 2020. Talking about the benefits available in the state, he pointed out toward the talented youth and state’s adequate human resource. He told about the electronics skill development programme started for the youth of the state. Technology Minister, Bhupendra Singh was also present at the event.
