Quectel Unveils Advanced Smart Factory; Lays Foundation For New Innovation HQ

Quectel Wireless Solutions, a leading global IoT solutions provider, recently opened its new Global Intelligent Manufacturing Center (GIMC) in Changzhou. The company also announced that it broke ground for its new innovation headquarters in Shanghai. The press release noted that its GIMC facility delivered advanced IoT automation and featured a manufacturing production line combining the latest tech like edge intelligence, machine learning, robotics and machine vision solutions. As per the company, its factory will be capable of manufacturing modules—4G modules, 5G modules, smart modules, automotive grade modules, narrowband IoT modules, GNSS modules, Wi-Fi modules and antennas.

Notably, the facility is designed by the company’s own IoT experts. The GIMC project started construction in September 2021 and will commence operation this year. The company believes that the smart factory will further enhance its production capabilities.

CEO of Quectel, Patrick Qian remarked, “Our new smart factory represents an important step toward the next generation of smart manufacturing and will guarantee both our product quality and production capacity, sufficient to meet various demanding requirements of our global customers. Applying IoT innovation to our own processes — will not only help us enhance our industry-leading quality — it will also accelerate the expansion of the global IoT market and be a catalyst for the entire IoT ecosystem.”

As per the released note, the new headquarter will serve as a central hub for administrative and research and development functions while also offering many amenities. The company plans to officially inaugurate and begin operations at the new headquarters spanning 100,000 sqm in 2025.
