Backed by record Q1 FY27 earnings, Rashi Peripherals is expanding into semiconductor and embedded solutions through a strategic partnership with Restar Corporation.
Rashi Peripherals has partnered with Japan-based Restar Corporation to expand its semiconductor and embedded solutions business in India. Under the agreement, Restar will acquire a 26 per cent stake in Rashi Semiconductor Solutions Private Limited, while Rashi Peripherals will retain a 74 per cent holding. The joint venture is scheduled to begin operations in October 2026.
As part of the restructuring, Rashi Peripherals will transfer its semiconductor business to dedicated subsidiaries in Bengaluru and Singapore. The company has also increased its investment limit in Rashi Semiconductor Solutions from ₹800 million to ₹1.5 billion to support the venture’s expansion.
The partnership aims to strengthen semiconductor distribution and engineering capabilities for India’s automotive and industrial electronics sectors by combining Restar’s global semiconductor expertise with Rashi’s domestic distribution network.
The announcement comes alongside Rashi Peripherals’ record financial performance for the first quarter of FY27. The company reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹51.02 billion, up 61.9 per cent from ₹31.52 billion in the year-ago period. Consolidated net profit rose 69.5 per cent year-on-year to ₹1.05 billion, driven by strong demand across its enterprise and lifestyle businesses.
The semiconductor joint venture forms part of Rashi’s broader strategy to diversify beyond traditional information technology (IT) distribution into higher-value technology solutions. Earlier this year, the company acquired a 67 per cent stake in VDA Infosolutions for ₹3.69 billion to strengthen its enterprise offerings. It also partnered with WEKA to deliver AI and machine learning infrastructure solutions in India.
With the Restar collaboration, Rashi Peripherals expects to deepen its presence in India’s semiconductor ecosystem, particularly in automotive image sensing, embedded technologies and industrial automation, while positioning itself for long-term growth in the country’s expanding electronics and semiconductor industry.
