The EnerMAAS project will deploy AI-driven, solar-powered charging stations for e-bikes and e-scooters across 50 German cities, advancing sustainable transportation and energy innovation.
Servotech Power Systems Ltd., has announced a strategic partnership with LESSzwei GmbH (LESS2), a German enterprise specializing in sustainable infrastructure. The collaboration aims to develop 100% solar-powered EV charging infrastructure for micromobility vehicles like e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes across urban areas in Germany.
The initiative, titled EnerMAAS, is a transformative project designed to create a sustainable and scalable charging ecosystem. It leverages artificial intelligence (AI)-driven energy management systems to optimize energy use and reduce environmental impact. EnerMAAS will convert existing photovoltaic systems and energy storage units into street-side charging stations, termed BIKE-Ports, which will offer fast, reliable, and self-sufficient energy using 100% solar power. Each station will be capable of simultaneously charging up to four two-wheelers with a combined output of 3.3 kW, ensuring 24/7 availability.
Funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), Germany, the project has a duration of 2.7 years. Servotech will lead the manufacturing and supply of these solar-powered charging stations, while LESS2 will focus on integrating AI technology and app development. Initially, 100 stations will be deployed across 50 cities in Germany, with two stations per city as part of the first phase.
