The deal covers technology licence, supply agreements of chargers, converters and power distribution systems for EV chargers and generate about ₹4.5 billion in revenue.
Sterling Gtake E-Mobility, a subsidiary of Sterling Tools, has signed technology licence and supply agreements with China’s Landworld Technology to manufacture EV chargers and DC/DC converters and power distribution systems in India.
The components will be produced at Sterling’s electric vehicle campus in Faridabad. These on-board chargers allow Electric Vehicles to connect to AC power sources and regulate battery charging, while DC/DC converters step down high-voltage battery power for auxiliary systems.
The partnership is expected to generate around ₹4.5 billion in revenue by FY30. The target aligns with a market segment projected to reach ₹30 billion in the same period. The agreement marks Sterling’s entry into EV power electronics beyond its existing motor control units.
Domestic production reduces imports and strengthens the local supply chain. By manufacturing these units in India, Sterling aims to provide local access to advanced EV subsystems and support government goals of self-reliance and localisation in automotive manufacturing.
The collaboration comes as EV manufacturers consolidate multiple sub-systems into multifunctional power units. Sterling is expanding its portfolio to address this trend and provide Indian automakers with integrated solutions.
Landworld brings its expertise in on-board chargers and converters to the arrangement. Sterling provides local manufacturing capability and distribution in India. Together, the companies seek to capture growing demand across passenger and commercial EV categories.
Lin Chen, vice general manager of Landworld Technology, said “India’s EV market offers significant growth potential. This partnership will enable Landworld to bring its expertise in OBCs and DC/DC converters to Indian customers while contributing to domestic supply chain development.”
