The visiting team is scheduled to inspect industrial facilities at Gangaikondan SIPCOT and Thoothukudi SIPCOT
An eight-member delegation from Taiwan arrived in Tirunelveli recently to assess industrial opportunities in the Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts, with three Taiwanese companies reportedly considering investments worth around ₹80,000 crore in the region.
Speaking to a news portal, Tirunelveli District Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Gunasingh Chellathurai said the proposed investments could significantly strengthen the industrial ecosystem of southern Tamil Nadu if the projects materialise.
As part of the preliminary assessment, the delegation will evaluate key factors influencing investment decisions, including industrial infrastructure, availability of drinking water, road and air connectivity, export logistics, and the existing industrial base in both districts.
The visiting team is scheduled to inspect industrial facilities at Gangaikondan SIPCOT and Thoothukudi SIPCOT to gain first-hand insights into the region’s manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure.
This visit will be a great opportunity for gaining potential collaborations between Taiwanese manufacturers and Tamil Nadu’s industrial sector. It will motivate other investors to prefer the destination for global investments in manufacturing and exports.
