Accelerating semiconductor innovation with chiplet-based engineering services, TCS strengthens India’s push for global chip leadership.
Tata Consultancy Services has announced the launch of its chiplet-based system engineering services aimed at accelerating semiconductor innovation and strengthening India’s ambition to become a global semiconductor hub.
The services are designed to help semiconductor firms design and deliver faster, more powerful next-generation chips, offering flexibility, scalability, and reduced time-to-market. According to the company, the initiative will democratise chip design for customers while supporting the industry’s transition towards multi-chip solutions.
The move comes at a crucial time for India’s semiconductor sector, which is projected to more than double from USD 45–50 billion in 2024–25 to USD 100–110 billion by 2030. The Union Cabinet has already approved the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) with an outlay of ₹76,000 crore to drive fabrication, design, and manufacturing.
TCS highlighted India’s strong position in the global value chain, with 20% of the world’s chip design engineers based in the country and increasing foreign investments in chip manufacturing and assembly.
The company’s offerings include advanced package design services such as 2.5D and 3D interposers and multi-layer organic substrates, which support multi-chip products with improved signal integrity, lower latency, and compact form factors.
V Rajanna, President of Technology, Software and Services at TCS, said the new services would enable semiconductor enterprises to accelerate chiplet tape-out and drive large-scale innovation. “Our investments in next-gen technologies and strong track record in execution make us the preferred partner for semiconductor clients,” he noted.
