Valens Semiconductor has appointed Asaf Silberstein, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Semtech Corporation, to its Board of Directors.
Silberstein brings more than two decades of experience in the semiconductor industry, with expertise in global operations, business execution, and scaling technology companies. He has served as Semtech’s COO since 2023 and has held several senior leadership positions at the company since joining in 2010.
Valens Semiconductor CEO Yoram Salinger said Silberstein’s experience in building and scaling semiconductor businesses will support the company’s next stage of growth, particularly across its Audio-Video and Automotive markets.
Silberstein said he has followed Valens and its connectivity technology for several years and sees significant potential in the company’s technology and expanding market opportunities.
Before becoming Semtech’s COO, Silberstein served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Information Technology. Before joining Semtech, he was Vice President of Global Operations at Microsemi. He also spent seven years at PowerDsine, where he eventually became Chief Operating Officer before the company was acquired by Microsemi.
