Trend Micro, through the technical verification, assures the effectiveness of security measures of the product in the 5G era
Trend Micro Inc., a leading cybersecurity solutions provider in the world has entered into a partnership with Japanese mobile operator NTT DOCOMO for developing new solutions to meet the demands of 5G era.
Currently, the company is working on technical verification of a solution on network security, especially for the cloud and network function virtualisation. This solution is developed upon the recently launchedx Virtual Network Function Suite (VNFS) by Trend Micro on the docomo 5G open cloud of NTT DOCOMO.
Safe 5G – an important factor
Commenting on the partnership, Tomoyoshi Oono, Senior Vice President, NTT DOCOMO, said, “Through ‘docomo 5G open cloud,’ NTT DOCOMO intends to further strengthen collaboration with partners in various industries and create a new solution in the 5G era. We believe that security is an important factor to provide users safe 5G environment services. Trend Micro VNFS has a very high affinity with ‘docomo 5G open cloud’ such as high-speed large capacity, traffic processing performance required for low delay traffic and flexible security. We believe that Trend Micro VNFS will be an effective security solution in the 5G era.”
Network security solution
A 5G technology verification solution, the docomo 5G open cloud is offered to business partners for developing a new solution in the era of 5G. The VNFS of Trend Micro is the network security solution that deploys security functions on virtualised settings like cloud and network functions virtualization (NFV). It can dynamically apply the required security solutions for each internet of things (IoT) device.
Trend Micro, through this technical verification, assures the effectiveness of security measures of the product in the 5G era. On the other hand, NTT DOCOMO confirms the measure’s effectiveness by using network security in 5G setting and the effectiveness of business that offers the security solution as a value-added service.
Both NTT DOCOMO and Trend Micro will promote the technical verification with the aim to start providing new solutions with additional security for 5G environment coming in 2020.
