ThinSiC is developing a low-cost, high-voltage SiC power device platform for electrification, power transmission and industrial applications
Axiro Semiconductor has recently announced an investment plan with ThinSiC Inc. The aim behind this investment is to expand Axiro’s goal of building a broad semiconductor portfolio.
Under the partnership, Axiro plans to serve as a commercial channel for ThinSiC’s technology in India and international markets. The company will leverage CG Power’s established presence across India’s power transmission and industrial infrastructure to facilitate the adoption of ThinSiC’s technology.
The collaboration comes as Indian companies increasingly explore silicon carbide technology to improve the performance and efficiency of power electronics products.
“This investment reflects our conviction that silicon carbide will be central to the next generation of power electronics and that cost has been the single biggest barrier to its broader adoption,” said Naveen Yanduru, Chief Executive Officer of Axiro Semiconductor.
