Boeing expects strong expansion in aerospace electronics and avionics as demand rises for advanced systems.
Boeing is preparing for the next phase of its expansion in India by focusing on aerospace electronics and avionics manufacturing, aiming to deepen the country’s role in global aviation supply chains. The strategic shift comes as India strengthens its manufacturing base and emerges as a key market for aviation technology and future capability development.
Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India, said the company sees major potential in expanding India’s capabilities beyond aircraft assembly to precision components, electronics and systems critical for aerospace products. He noted that Boeing’s long-term commitment to India aligns with the government’s push for high-tech manufacturing and supply-chain localisation.
India’s aviation ecosystem, he added, now includes advanced component suppliers and engineering talent that can scale to meet future demands. Boeing has already invested ₹3,000 crore in its India operations, including a recent engineering and technology centre in Bengaluru employing over 4,000 professionals.
Training, innovation and partnership remain core to the expansion strategy. Gupte highlighted Boeing’s skilling initiatives with local institutions to support talent development for aerospace manufacturing and maintenance operations.
Industry experts believe this move could position India as a global hub for aircraft component production at a time when defence and commercial aviation demand is rising. The proposed electronics and avionics focus is expected to accelerate supply-chain resilience and create high-value jobs across the sector.
