Set to hit the roads in Arunachal Pradesh, Chartered Speed partners with APSTS electric bus service to improve transport links in remote cities.
Chartered Speed has partnered with the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS) to introduce 10 electric buses across the state. The initiative was formally launched by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who flagged off the buses at an official ceremony.
The newly deployed 9-metre, air-conditioned electric buses will operate in Itanagar, Namsai, and Pasighat. The company has also installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in these locations to support uninterrupted service and reduce downtime.
Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director of the passenger mobility company, said the initiative is intended to support sustainable mobility in less accessible areas. “At Chartered Speed, we believe that sustainable mobility should not be limited by geography,” he stated.
“Our association with APSTS and the deployment of electric buses reflect our commitment to building a cleaner, more connected future where even the most remote regions benefit from modern, eco-friendly transportation solutions,” he said.
The company currently operates a fleet of over 1800 buses in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam, serving around 350,000 passengers daily, with a workforce of over 4800.
In addition, Chartered Speed was recently awarded a contract by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate more than 900 electric buses across 13 cities in three Indian states.
Established in 2010, Chartered Speed operates in the business-to-business (B2B), and business-to-consumer (B2C) sectors, providing services such as intercity travel, staff and school transport, and government transport solutions.
The company stated that its broader focus is on transitioning from internal combustion engine vehicles to buses powered by alternative green fuels.
