It will enable students and professionals to acquire hands-on experience in Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP) processes.
As part of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the formation of the ATMP Training Facility at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) marks a significant milestone in Gujarat’s development within the semiconductor sector. It will enable students and professionals to acquire hands-on experience in Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP) processes, which are critical steps in semiconductor manufacturing.
The facility was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, accompanied by senior representatives from all stakeholders. According to experts from PDEU, Micron Technology has supplied and installed three machines, which will be used to provide training on the entire process, from chip dicing to testing.
Experts highlighted that the Semiconductor ATMP Training Facility is a collaborative initiative involving Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), the Department of Science and Technology (Government of Gujarat), Micron Technology, and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). This partnership aims to develop skilled human resources to meet the workforce demands of upcoming semiconductor plants and design labs in Gujarat.
The experts also added that the facility will provide trained professionals to support upcoming semiconductor plants and design labs in Gujarat, fulfilling critical human resource needs. coupled with hands-on training in Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP) processes will bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. By creating a pool of skilled talent, this initiative aims to attract investments in semiconductor manufacturing and research within the state.
