Huawei Unveils Tri-Fold Mate XT2

The Chinese tech giant introduces its latest flagship foldable handset powered by an energy-efficient in-house chip to ward off rivals like Apple and Xiaomi.

Huawei has unveiled the latest iteration of its flagship foldable smartphone, the Mate XT2, in a move to maintain its dominant position in China’s premium mobile market. The launch comes amidst an intensifying battle with major rivals Apple and Xiaomi, both of which are preparing to roll out competing devices this week.

The new handset features a tri-fold design that expands twice to transform into a tablet-sized display. Under the hood, the Mate XT2 is powered by Huawei’s newly developed Kirin 9050 Pro processor. According to the company, the chip’s refined architecture delivers increased processing capability alongside improved energy efficiency, aiding Huawei in circumventing ongoing US technology restrictions.

The release marks the beginning of a highly competitive week for high-end smartphones in China, where Xiaomi is scheduled to release its own flagship foldable handset later today and Apple is set to unveil its latest iPhone range on Wednesday.
