Strengthening its commitment to engineering talent and innovation, Microchip Technology has opened a new office facility in Bengaluru.
Microchip Technology has expanded its presence in India with the acquisition of 1.72 lakh square feet of office space at the Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) Zone in Whitefield, Bengaluru. The Nasdaq-listed semiconductor company said the new facility underscores its long-term commitment to strengthening engineering, design and R&D capabilities in one of India’s leading tech hubs.
The new office will function as a strategic extension of Microchip’s existing Bengaluru Development Center and can accommodate more than 3,000 employees over the next decade. The company said the expansion will support its growing workforce, enable future hiring and enhance collaboration across global and regional teams.
“At Microchip, growth is about creating opportunities as much as scaling operations,” said Srikanth Settikere, vice president and managing director of Microchip’s India Development Centre. He noted that India contributes nearly 20 percent of global semiconductor design talent, and the new facility will sharpen the company’s focus on advanced IC design.
Steve Sanghi, President and CEO of Microchip, said the acquisition reflects the firm’s long-term commitment. “We recently celebrated Microchip’s 25th anniversary in India and this office acquisition is a testament to our commitment in India,” he said.
The Bengaluru expansion adds to Microchip’s existing presence in the city and complements its operations in Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and New Delhi. With this investment, Microchip strengthens its capability to deliver semiconductor solutions across industrial, automotive, aerospace and defence, consumer, communications and computing markets.
