Joining hands for a new collaboration, Optiemus Electronics will manufacture TP-Link’s networking equipment like modems, routers, and smart home products in India.
Optiemus Electronics Ltd has announced a partnership with electronics brand TP-Link to manufacture networking devices and smart home products in India. The partnership will see products like Wi-Fi routers, security cameras, and other telecom hardware produced at Optiemus Electronics’ manufacturing facility.
With a production capacity of up to six million devices annually, this factory will focus on both the domestic market and future exports.
Optiemus Electronics will manufacture a range of key products, including GPON (ONT) devices, security cameras, home Wi-Fi routers, enterprise routers, modems, gateways, and SOHO switches.
According to a statement by the companies, this collaboration aligns with the country’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, aiming to reduce reliance on imports while catering to the growing demand for connected devices in India.
This move, as pointed out by the Economic Times, is expected to strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing sector, provide better control over supply chains, and support local production of components like power adapters and mechanical parts.
The companies also noted that this partnership will help decrease import dependencies, ultimately contributing to the country’s self-sufficiency in electronics production.
As part of the plan, Optiemus will work on developing a local supply chain for essential components while exploring the potential to export these domestically made products to international markets, further expanding India’s role in the global electronics industry.
