With 14 years of industry experience, Ravi Madan joins Vikram Solar’s subsidiary, bringing global battery expertise to drive India’s push for greener automotive technologies.
Ravi Madan has taken up the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at VSL PowerHive, a subsidiary of Vikram Solar. Based in Kolkata, the appointment marks his latest move in a career spanning over 14 years in battery systems and electric vehicle (EV) technologies.
Madan, who joined the company in October 2025, will oversee research and development (R&D) with a focus on greener technologies for the automotive sector. His expertise includes design and development of xEV system components, project management, component validation, and multidisciplinary system integration.
Prior to this role, Madan served as Vice President for R&D in battery packs and battery management systems at Exide Energy Solutions in Bengaluru between 2023 and 2025. He also headed battery pack development at Ola Electric from 2022 to 2023.
Earlier, he worked with Svolt Energy Technology in China as a battery system expert, leading projects for global automotive groups including Stellantis, Ferrari, BMW, Volkswagen, and Tata Motors.
His earlier career includes positions at ACME Cleantech Solutions, where he managed battery system design, and Maruti Suzuki India, where he contributed to lithium-ion battery architecture, benchmarking, and feasibility studies.
Across these roles, Madan has led multiple design and validation projects, supported international clients, and developed technical roadmaps for advanced battery systems.
At VSL PowerHive, Madan is expected to strengthen the company’s capabilities in electric mobility and renewable energy integration. The facility in Kolkata will serve as a hub for innovation in battery technologies, aligning with Vikram Solar’s broader clean energy initiatives.
