This initiative, aimed at revolutionising farming in Uttar Pradesh, promises sustainable energy solutions for farmers, reduced operational costs, and enhanced productivity—all while advancing India’s renewable energy goals.
Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd., formerly known as Servotech Power Systems Ltd., a prominent player in solar solutions and EV charger manufacturing, has been awarded a significant contract by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Authority (UPNEDA). The order, valued at approximately ₹31 crore, entails the supply, installation, and maintenance of around 1,100 grid-connected agricultural pumps under the “KUSUM Component C-1 Scheme.”
The initiative aims to revolutionize farming in Uttar Pradesh by integrating solar energy into agricultural practices, aligning with India’s mission to transition to a solar-powered nation. The project will cover the manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar-powered pumps ranging from 2 HP to 5 HP, supported by solar power plants with capacities of 3 kW, 4.5 kW, and 7.5 kW. Additionally, Servotech will provide comprehensive maintenance for five years, ensuring long-term operational efficiency.
Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with UPNEDA in driving Uttar Pradesh’s green energy goals. Farmers often face challenges with traditional energy sources and diesel generators for irrigation. This initiative offers them access to clean, cost-effective solar energy solutions, reducing reliance on grid electricity. Solar-powered irrigation systems will not only lower operational costs but also enhance productivity, contributing to the prosperity of rural communities.”
The project is expected to bolster Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy agenda while addressing farmers’ needs for sustainable and affordable energy alternatives. By leveraging solar-powered systems, the initiative aims to enhance energy security, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
Servotech’s role in this venture underscores its commitment to advancing clean energy solutions and fostering a greener future for India. The project marks a significant step towards integrating renewable energy into the agricultural sector, ensuring long-term benefits for both farmers and the environment.
