Submer Group To Invest $2 Billion In MP Semiconductor, Data Centre Sector

The state of Madhya Pradesh is receiving significant investments to enhance its tech sector

Submer Group has recently unveiled its plan to invest US$ 2 billion (around ₹20,000 crore) in Madhya Pradesh’s semiconductor and data centre ecosystem.

According to the state government, the investment proposal received swift administrative support. An email requesting land allotment for the project was processed within six days, leading to the allocation of 60703sqm (15 acres) in the Acharpura Industrial Area.

Speaking at the conclave, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the state’s growing presence in technology-driven industries. He said Madhya Pradesh, traditionally known for agriculture, mining, and forestry, is rapidly expanding into sectors such as semiconductors, data centres, artificial intelligence, defence, drones, renewable energy, and industrial corridors.

From the last two editions, Madhya Pradesh achieved investment proposals of ₹460 billion, inaugurated 22 industrial units, and held groundbreaking ceremonies for four new projects, highlighted Yadav.

While appreciating this initiative, Yadav emphasised that since the Global Investors Meet 2025, the state has achieved technology-sector investments worth more than ₹120 billion.

The Chief Minister also announced the development of a 27871sqm (300,000sqft) IT park in the Indore IT Corridor to support companies in the global capability centre (GCC), semiconductor, and data centre sectors. Additionally, a Semiconductor Centre of Excellence will be established to promote skill development and strengthen the state’s semiconductor ecosystem.

Apart from this announcement, there are multiple developments, like a 37161sqm (400,000sqft) IT park in Bhopal, where technology companies will be offered plug-and-play facilities, along with a 20234sqm (5 acre) plug-and-play campus at the Satgarhi Smart Industry Park.

During the event, Yadav also inaugurated 20 industrial units, while the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) signed a memorandum of understanding with India Lead for Google Play to support the state’s digital and technology ecosystem.

The state government said foreign direct investments worth over ₹282 billion from companies based in Spain, Canada, the UK, Japan, and South Korea have already been committed to Madhya Pradesh, underscoring its emergence as a destination for advanced manufacturing and technology investments.
