Backed by Reliance Industries, the company is expanding beyond warehouse automation and expects factories and e-commerce hubs to lead humanoid robot adoption.
Reliance Industries-backed robotics company Addverb is aiming to launch a fully two-legged humanoid robot by the end of 2026, expanding its focus beyond warehouse automation into a market expected to grow rapidly with the rise of artificial intelligence and advanced robotics.
The Noida-based company plans to begin customer trials and proof-of-concept deployments next year before moving to commercial adoption. The upcoming humanoid builds on Dynamoid, a mobile robot introduced earlier this year that combines a robotic upper body with an autonomous mobile base.
Addverb expects warehouses, factories, e-commerce fulfillment centers and quick-commerce facilities to be among the first industries to deploy humanoid robots. The company believes these machines can take over repetitive, physically demanding tasks such as picking, sorting and material handling, helping businesses address labor shortages and high employee turnover.
To support its expansion, Addverb is seeking to raise $100 million, with a significant portion of the funds earmarked for research and development in advanced robotics. The company also plans to invest in startups developing key robotics technologies, including hardware and software, to strengthen India’s domestic robotics ecosystem.
While India remains a strategic market, Addverb expects demand for humanoid robots to emerge more quickly in developed economies such as the U.S. and Europe. Beyond industrial settings, the company sees long-term opportunities in elderly care, assistive services and home automation, where humanoid robots could eventually perform household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and kitchen assistance.
Despite its ambitions, Addverb acknowledged that India’s robotics supply chain remains underdeveloped, with advanced components such as actuators and sensors still largely imported. The company believes stronger government support, industry collaboration and continued investment in local innovation will be critical to building a globally competitive robotics manufacturing ecosystem in the years ahead.
