Astute Groups signs distribution deal with Puya Semiconductor to supply NOR Flash, EEPROM, and MCUs, aiming to support OEMs in high-demand embedded applications.
UK-based electronics distributor Astute Group has signed a new distribution agreement with Puya Semiconductor to supply its memory and microcontroller solutions across Europe. The deal is aimed at expanding access to embedded components widely used in mobile, consumer, automotive and industrial devices.
Puya semiconductor manufactures ultra-low power non-volatile memory components and 32-bit Arm microcontrollers. Its products are deployed in a range of applications including wireless audio, touch interfaces, camera modules and smart appliances. The partnership gives Astute exclusive access to Puya’s NOR Flash, EEPROM and Arm Cortex-M0+ and M4-based microcontroller portfolio.
Astute aims to offer broader options to OEMs and system integrators building low-power embedded systems for competitive markets. Mike Ward, Semiconductor BDM at Astute Group, said “Puya’s ultra-low power design philosophy and proven success with global tier-one brands align perfectly with our focus on delivering reliable, efficient solutions to demanding markets. We are excited to offer customers greater access to these cutting-edge technologies.”
Puya’s memory devices are typically used in hardware where frequent updates and low power draw are required, such as smart meters, wireless modules and navigation systems. Their EEPROM range has seen adoption in high-cycle environments like camera units and connected appliances.
The agreement expands Puya’s presence in Europe while allowing Astute to deepen its reach in sectors where power efficiency and endurance are key selection criteria. Both firms stand to gain as embedded system complexity increases and OEMs look for dependable alternatives amid ongoing geopolitical and supply challenges.
