Taiwan based tech giant Asus aims to invest $20 million in India to expand its PC business in 2019.
Asus will invest around $20 million in 2019 to expand its PC business in India. The company also plans to open a large number of exclusive retail stores, thereby increasing its distribution network and to maintain the company’s overall market presence, informed a top executive of the company to Economic Times.
Expansion and investment plan
In terms of marketing investments Asus is investing roughly around $2.5 million every quarter in the country this year. According to Arnold Su, Business Development Manager, Asus India (PC and Gaming, the company is aiming to double the investment in the next year. Hence Asus is looking to invest $20 million in 2019 in the Indian market in marketing and maintaining the overall market presence of the brand.
According to Su, towards the middle of 2019, the company will add 100 more exclusive stores as well bump up the number of distributors to 10,000 during the same period. The company will also add 7 new ROG (Republic of Gaming) stores to take the total number of such stores to 10 by the end of 2019.
Talking about the company’s current revenue structure, Su further informed that at present Asus generates around 70 per cent revenues through their exclusive stores and distributors network while online sales contribute 20 per cent of their revenue. However the remaining 10 per cent comes from the large format retail stores.
The technology giant which entered the Indian market only a decade earlier sees strong growth in tier II and tier III markets and had strategically focused on these cities.
