Amid rising EV adoption, BikeWo and Commerce Forever collaborate to launch clean last-mile delivery and build tech-led training centres for rural delivery agents.
BikeWo GreenTech Ltd, a Hyderabad-based electric mobility firm, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with B2B e-commerce company Commerce Forever to introduce electric two-wheelers for last-mile delivery operations across Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and adjoining regions.
Under the terms of the MoU, BikeWo will lease 1,500 to 2,500 electric scooters to delivery agents working within Commerce Forever’s supply chain.
According to the companies, this deployment could help reduce up to 547 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually. It is also expected to contribute to lowering long-term logistics costs for e-commerce delivery services in the region.
To complement the vehicle rollout, the two companies plan to establish regional training centres.
These facilities will focus on upskilling individuals, particularly from rural backgrounds, in electric vehicle handling, safety procedures, and digital logistics platforms.
Both companies noted the training is intended to enhance workforce readiness and ensure more reliable operations as the EV-based logistics model expands.
Simultaneously, the firms will also work together to develop backend technology systems. These platforms aim to simplify rider onboarding, improve route optimisation, and strengthen key components of overall fleet management for efficient scaling of operations.
Commenting on the initiative, Manideep Katepalli, Managing Director of BikeWo GreenTech Ltd, stated, “This is not just a leasing model. We aim to combine clean transport with structured training and digital infrastructure.”
According to Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Partner at Commerce Forever, the partnership is consistent with the firm’s business priorities and India’s broader push towards environmental sustainability.
Looking ahead, the partnership arrives at a time when India’s last-mile delivery market is projected to experience growth. Industry estimates suggest the sector could reach between $6 billion and $7 billion by 2027, driven by increasing e-commerce activity and a shift towards greener logistics alternatives.
