Released with the President of India’s approval, the fund enables the semiconductor and electronics project in Chhattisgarh to move into implementation.
The Centre has sanctioned financial assistance to promote the development of semiconductor and electronics industries in Nava Raipur, the new capital city of Chhattisgarh.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has approved the release of the first instalment of ₹225 billion for the Common Facility Centre (CFC) being set up under the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters EMC 2.0 Scheme. The project, located in Sector 22 of Nava Raipur, is being implemented by the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran NRANVP. According to official sources, the fund was released following approval from the President of India, enabling the project to move into the implementation phase.
The proposal was initially examined by the Project Management Agency, Software Technology Parks of India STPI, and subsequently recommended by the Project Review Committee, which approved the release of 30% of the total central financial assistance as the first instalment.
The CFC is expected to provide shared infrastructure, including advanced machinery, testing facilities and technical support, particularly benefiting small and medium enterprises by granting access to high-end infrastructure at lower costs. Officials said the project would attract industrial investment to Chhattisgarh and generate new employment opportunities for local youth, strengthening Nava Raipur’s position as an emerging hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
The ministry has clarified that the grant will be utilised strictly in line with prescribed financial rules and for approved objectives, with project accounts subject to audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India to ensure transparency and accountability.
