Andhra Pradesh gets a massive digital push as Digital Connexion commits US$11 billion to build 1GW of AI native data centres in Visakhapatnam by 2030.
Digital Connexion has announced plans to put in about US$11 billion in Andhra Pradesh by 2030. The company will develop 1 gigawatt of AI native, purpose-built data centre capacity in Visakhapatnam. The announcement follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board.
The proposed investment will span five years. Digital Connexion will build large-scale facilities across 400 acres (approximately 161.87 hectares) in the coastal city.
According to the company, the project aims to create one of India’s most advanced hubs for artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and digital infrastructure.
The company also said the new centres will be designed to handle intensive AI workloads. They will offer high-density racks, redundant power systems, and low-latency connectivity for hyperscalers and enterprise customers.
Meanwhile, Digital Connexion is developing a network of AI native facilities across major Indian metros. It already operates a campus in Chennai, and a second campus is under construction in Mumbai’s Chandivali area. As per their update, both locations are carrier-neutral and built for seamless interconnection.
The Andhra Pradesh development is expected to play a central role in the company’s long-term strategy. Digital Connexion says the project aligns with India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision for advanced digital growth.
It added that high-performance computing capabilities are essential for innovation, industry transformation, and the next wave of AI-driven services.
