Early-stage deep tech startups across AI, drones, robotics, EVs, semiconductors, and defence stand to benefit as Startup Stairs announces Startup League 2026.
Indian startup incubator and entrepreneurship development organisation Startup Stairs has announced Startup League 2026, a national hackathon and funding platform scheduled for June 11, aimed at early-stage deep tech startups in sectors such as AI, drones, robotics, EVs, semiconductors, and defence, as funding and market access gaps continue to slow the segment.
Startup Stairs promoter and co-founder of AVPL International, Preet Sandhu, says, “India has a strong talent pool, but deep-tech startups often struggle with access to capital, mentorship, and market linkages. This creates a gap between innovation and deployment”.
The event will run in three stages—screening, pitch and demo rounds, and investor evaluation. Organisers say startups may access a funding pool of up to ₹40 million, though final investments will depend on investor decisions during the event.
The platform is open to founders and early-stage teams and is expected to bring in investors, incubators, corporates, and academic institutions. The focus remains on closing the gap between lab innovation and market adoption.
The timing aligns with India’s push to build domestic capability in critical technologies amid supply chain disruptions.
Startup Stairs, backed by NSDC International and recognised by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, claims support for over 50 startups and more than ₹20 crore in seed funding.
