From Jaipur’s REIL campus to India’s skies, Garuda Aerospace expands drone training with a DGCA-approved centre.
Garuda Aerospace has partnered with Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL) to set up a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)-authorised Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) in Jaipur.

The agreement, announced on 24 March 2026, grants Garuda a 10-year DGCA authorisation valid until March 2036.
The centre will train pilots in RotorCraft RPAS small category drone operations, including day and night Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) missions. Flying sessions will take place at Arya College of Engineering and IT in Kukas, Rajasthan while ground training will be conducted at REIL’s Mansarovar campus.
Under the contract, Garuda will oversee the complete establishment of the RPTO centre, from infrastructure development and deployment of DGCA-approved equipment to participant mobilisation and delivery of structured training programmes.
The centre will cater to industrial, commercial, and institutional organisations in Rajasthan and beyond.
Garuda’s collaboration with REIL adds to its portfolio of government-backed RPTO projects. The company has previously partnered with the National Rural and Farm Mechanization Training & Technology Institute (NRFMTTI) and the Central Research Farms and Mechanization Training & Technology Institute (CRFMTTI), supporting drone pilot training for agricultural and rural applications.
“This partnership with REIL is a proud moment for every team member at Garuda Aerospace. Having trained over 2,500 certified drone pilots across India, including legendary cricketer MS Dhoni, we know what it takes to build a world-class RPTO centre. Our mission has always been to put India in the sky, and Jaipur is our next frontier,” said Dr Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Whole-time Director & CEO, Garuda Aerospace Ltd.
The Jaipur facility is expected to become operational in the coming months, with training batches open to candidates nationwide. All operations will follow DGCA’s approved Training and Procedure Manual.
Garuda Aerospace, a drone technology startup headquartered in Chennai, focuses on applications in precision agriculture and Industry 4.0, designing and manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles tailored for diverse sectors.
