India and the Philippines have signed an MoU linking their electronics and space industries, aiming to drive co-development, supply chain integration, and Indo-Pacific technology cooperation.
The Satcom Industry Association-India (SIA-India) and the Electronic Industry Association of the Philippines Inc (EIAPI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in electronics, space, and satellite communication technologies.
The agreement focuses on co-development, joint research, collaborative manufacturing, and innovation across satellite communications hardware, embedded systems, IoT devices, space electronics, and next-generation technologies.
The MoU also integrates the Philippines into India’s USD 115 billion electronics manufacturing ecosystem, creating opportunities for co-development of critical components and enhancing supply chain resilience. This move is expected to provide Philippine industry with direct participation in India’s expanding electronics base.
Signed as India and the Philippines mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the agreement opens new avenues for the Philippines in space electronics, satellite payload components, and ground infrastructure technologies, while also strengthening Indo-Pacific technology cooperation.
Subba Rao Pavuluri, President, SIA-India, said: “Through joint projects, innovation and skill development, we aim to translate this vision into practical outcomes that will strengthen both nations’ space and electronics ecosystems.”
Earl Lawrence Qua, President, EIAPI, added: “This collaboration strengthens our role in space and satellite technologies and enables the Philippines to be an active contributor to shaping the Indo-Pacific technology ecosystem.”
By linking Philippine electronics expertise with India’s large-scale manufacturing base, the partnership is set to unlock new business opportunities and expand regional competitiveness in space and satellite systems.
