With a ₹35 billion commitment, L’Oréal brings its global AI and beauty-tech ambitions to Hyderabad, creating 2000 jobs and deepening India–France innovation ties.
L’Oréal has announced plans to establish India’s first beauty technology hub in Hyderabad, committing an initial investment of ₹35 billion (€350 million) through 2030. The move marks a major expansion of the French cosmetics group’s global technology footprint.
The proposed India Tech Hub will focus on data platforms, artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced digital engineering. L’Oréal said the centre will support its worldwide operations and play a central role in shaping future beauty innovation. More than 2000 specialised beauty-tech roles are expected to be created.
According to the company, the Hyderabad facility will integrate into L’Oréal’s global AI and technology network, which already includes hubs in France, the United States, China, Singapore, Spain, Poland, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. The Indian hub will support product development, digital tools and consumer-facing technologies across markets.
Nicolas Hieronimus, chief executive officer of L’Oréal, said the decision reflects the company’s long-standing engagement with India and its growing confidence in the country’s engineering talent.
He said Hyderabad would become a core pillar of L’Oréal’s digital and AI strategy, combining science, technology and creativity.
The announcement follows discussions between Hieronimus and Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s minister for information technology, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2026.
The state government said the project aligns with its broader ambitions to position Telangana as a global technology hub.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy described the investment as an endorsement of Telangana’s innovation ecosystem and skilled workforce. He said the project supports the state’s long-term Telangana Rising: 2047 Vision by generating high-value employment and strengthening its digital economy.
L’Oréal also said the partnership with Telangana represents a key milestone during the 2026 India–France Year of Innovation. The initiative is expected to deepen technological collaboration between the two countries and reinforce India’s role in global AI-driven industries.
