Agreement to deploy 100 electric small commercial vehicles, aiming to accelerate sustainable logistics solutions across sectors like e-commerce, FMCG, and telecom in India.
Montra Electric and Magenta Mobility have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on expanding electric vehicle (EV) adoption in India’s logistics sector. The agreement was formalized by Saju Nair, CEO of TIVOLT Electric Private Limited (the Small Commercial Vehicle division of Montra Electric), and Maxson Lewis, Managing Director and CEO of Magenta Mobility.
As part of the agreement, Montra Electric will supply 100 units of its recently launched EVIATOR E350L electric small commercial vehicles to Magenta Mobility. The vehicles will be deployed across a range of applications including fast-moving consumer goods, grocery, e-commerce, and telecom logistics. The EVIATOR E350L, introduced at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, is equipped with advanced software-defined vehicle (SDV) capabilities and telematics systems designed to improve fleet management and operational efficiency.
The company will also offer customized service and charging support to help ensure vehicle uptime and fleet optimization for Magenta Mobility. This partnership reflects the growing momentum in India’s electric mobility transition, particularly in the four-wheeler small commercial vehicle (e-SCV) segment. Both companies aim to address the increasing demand for sustainable and reliable logistics operations while enhancing vehicle performance, intercity range, and driver comfort.
Industry analysts note that collaborations like this are likely to shape the future of India’s commercial transport sector, as companies seek to meet evolving emissions regulations and customer expectations for greener supply chain practices. Commenting on the collaboration, Saju Nair said the partnership represents a step forward in supporting the electrification of commercial logistics and highlights the capabilities of the EVIATOR E350L in delivering efficient fleet solutions.
Magenta Mobility’s CEO, Maxson Lewis, stated that the agreement is aligned with the company’s mission to offer sustainable logistics solutions and advance the adoption of electric vehicles in commercial operations. The partnership also marks the introduction of what is being described as India’s first purpose-built electric vehicle in the 3.5-tonne segment, as both companies look to strengthen their roles in the country’s evolving EV landscape.
