AI momentum pays off at Nvidia as employees receive additional stock grants, reflecting the company’s massive growth and fierce battle for skilled semiconductor professionals globally.
US chip giant Nvidia is extending additional stock-based rewards to employees as the company continues to benefit from the global surge in artificial intelligence (AI) adoption.
The company’s rapid growth has been closely tied to soaring demand for AI computing hardware, which has pushed Nvidia’s market performance to new highs. Over the past year, Nvidia’s share price has surged more than 200%, reflecting strong investor confidence in its leadership in AI chips powering data centres, large language models, and advanced computing systems.
According to reports citing people familiar with the development, Nvidia has introduced a special equity incentive internally known as the “Jensen special grant,” named after CEO Jensen Huang. The grant consists of additional restricted stock units (RSUs) awarded to employees as a one-time bonus.
The special grant reportedly adds roughly 25% extra stock units to the equity packages employees originally received when joining the company. For example, employees who were granted stock options valued at about $200,000 could receive an additional $50,000 worth of RSUs under the new incentive programme.
This bonus comes on top of Nvidia’s existing compensation structure, which already includes periodic equity refreshers tied to employee performance reviews. Workers were informed about the additional stock grants during appraisal discussions as the company began its annual performance review cycle earlier this month.
The move highlights how Nvidia is sharing the financial gains from the AI boom with its workforce while also strengthening employee retention in a highly competitive semiconductor talent market. As AI investments continue accelerating worldwide, Nvidia’s strategy signals confidence in sustained long-term growth and its dominant position in next-generation computing technologies.
