Ola opens test rides across flagship stores to highlight the performance of its new 4680 Bharat cell vehicles.
Ola Electric has started customer test rides of its vehicles powered by the indigenous 4680 Bharat Cell at the companys flagship stores across India, marking a significant milestone in domestic electric mobility development. The S1 Pro Plus with a 5.2 kWh battery is the first model to feature the companys locally developed cell technology, which promises higher range, stronger performance and improved safety.
The launch follows Ola Electrics recent certification from the Automotive Research Association of India under the latest AIS 156 Amendment 4 standards issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for the 4680 Bharat Cell in a 5.2 kWh configuration. The company said the certification validates the cells safety and advancement as a domestic solution for next generation EV batteries.
An Ola Electric spokesperson said the new cell powered vehicles represent a major leap for Indias EV landscape and allow customers to directly experience the benefits at retail locations. The company said the milestone reinforces its vision of technological self reliance and faster adoption of sustainable mobility.
The S1 Pro Plus uses a 13 kW motor that accelerates from zero to forty kilometres per hour in 2 point 1 seconds and delivers a certified range of 320 kilometres in IDC with DIY mode. The scooter offers four ride modes, improved braking supported by dual ABS, and upgraded comfort features including a redesigned seat, new mirrors, a stronger grab handle and an expanded colour range.
