The partnership is expected to significantly boost India’s ambitions to become a global electronics manufacturing hub, contributing meaningfully to the Make-in-India vision.
Optiemus Electronics Ltd. (OEL), a leading Indian electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, announced today a strategic manufacturing agreement with ASRock Inc., one of Taiwan’s top four motherboard manufacturers. Under this collaboration, OEL will locally manufacture ASRock’s enterprise and gaming desktop motherboards to meet India’s growing domestic demand.
Production commenced in April 2025, with “Made-in-India” ASRock motherboards set to hit the Indian market starting May 2025. This move not only supports the Indian government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative but also marks a significant expansion of OEL’s IT hardware manufacturing capabilities.
As part of the agreement, both companies have committed to broadening their product offerings in India. The partnership comes at a time when India’s electronics manufacturing sector is rapidly diversifying, and local production of high-end IT hardware is gaining momentum.ASRock, known globally for its innovative and environmentally conscious motherboard designs, has until now primarily supplied the Indian market through imports. By shifting production to India, the company aims to increase its market presence while supporting local supply chains and reducing lead times.
“This partnership is a major milestone,” said Ashok Gupta, Executive Chairman of Optiemus Group. “It showcases our ability to handle complex printed circuit board assemblies, including BGA and fine-pitch components, which are vital for manufacturing motherboards used in AI-powered devices, high-end desktops, and telecom infrastructure.”
Gupta emphasized that OEL’s advanced, fully automated facilities—including nitrogen reflow systems for optimal soldering—are equipped to ensure long-term reliability of these sophisticated components. “We are aligned with ASRock’s vision and committed to building domestic capabilities,” he added. “This collaboration will not only address domestic and export demands but also generate employment and skill development opportunities in India’s high-tech manufacturing sector.”
