From robotics to aerospace, industry veterans Sriram Kumar and Sujaya Shashikiran now lead ELCIA into its next growth phase.
The Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) in Bengaluru has appointed a new leadership team to strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing and semiconductor ecosystem.
V Sriram Kumar, formerly President of ELCIA and a veteran of FANUC India, has been named Chief Executive Officer. With more than three decades of industry experience and over 25 years of association with ELCIA, Kumar will oversee initiatives to build institutional capabilities and foster collaboration across the sector.

Alongside this transition, Sujaya Shashikiran, Executive Chairperson of Hical Private Limited, has assumed the role of President. She will provide direction and governance, working closely with the Executive Committee and operational team.

Commenting on his appointment, Kumar said: “Our focus will be on building platforms and partnerships that help the ecosystem innovate, develop capabilities, and scale sustainably.”
Shashikiran noted: “As President, I look forward to working with the Executive Committee and the CEO to strengthen ELCIA’s initiatives and ensure they deliver tangible value to industry and the larger ecosystem.”
Kumar’s career spans leadership roles in automation and robotics, particularly during his tenure at FANUC India, where he helped advance industrial automation solutions in the country.
He is also an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur and has been active in driving industry-focused initiatives through ELCIA, including programmes to improve ease of doing business and collaborative development across Bengaluru’s Electronics City cluster.
Shashikiran brings over a decade of leadership at Hical Technologies, a company recognised for its electro-mechanical systems used in aerospace and defence platforms.
As Managing Director and later Chairperson, she has overseen the company’s expansion into global markets and strengthened its engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
The leadership change comes as ELCIA expands its role beyond advocacy to active ecosystem building. Its major initiatives include the Electronics Centre of Excellence (e-COE), designed to enable sensor development and commercialisation for domestic and global markets, and the Electronics Skill Development Centre (ESDC), which will focus on talent creation.
