Guiding GM’s global production into the shift towards software-defined vehicles, Mike Trevorrow steps up as Senior Vice President, bringing 40+ years of manufacturing expertise.
General Motors (GM) has announced the appointment of Mike Trevorrow as Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing, effective from 6 June. This move follows the resignation of Jens Peter Clausen, who held the global manufacturing leadership role for less than a year.
Trevorrow will take on a dual role, continuing as Vice President of Global Manufacturing Engineering while also overseeing GM’s global manufacturing operations. He will report directly to GM President Mark Reuss. The combined responsibilities cover over 95,000 employees across 110 sites in 11 countries.
GM stated that Trevorrow’s appointment is key to advancing the integration of new manufacturing technologies. His leadership is expected to support the company’s shift towards software-defined vehicles and its broader innovation agenda.
Trevorrow brings more than four decades of experience in manufacturing to the role. Since joining GM in 2009, he has held multiple leadership positions in both engineering and production.
His previous roles include Executive Director of Global Body in Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Executive Director of GM’s Lansing Region in Michigan, US.
In 2023, he became Vice President of North American Manufacturing, and by early 2024, transitioned to Vice President of Global Manufacturing Engineering.
Reuss praised Trevorrow’s extensive knowledge in manufacturing and engineering, along with his steady leadership, noting that this makes him the right person to lead the company’s global operations into the future.
