Power shift at Rimac Technology sees Nurdin Pitarević step up as CEO, steering the Croatian firm into 2026 with new battery programmes and global expansion.

Rimac Technology has announced a leadership transition as it prepares for its expansion. Nurdin Pitarević, formerly Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Simultaneously, Marko Brkljačić, previously Deputy COO, will step into the COO role.
Founder Mate Rimac, who has led the Croatian automotive supplier since its inception, will continue as President of Rimac Group and CEO of Bugatti Rimac, focusing on broader group strategy and Bugatti operations.
Pitarević, who joined Rimac Technology from a major European Tier 1 supplier, has overseen the company’s industrialisation and operational scale-up. He emphasised that his new role will focus on long-term direction, combining innovation, digitalisation, sustainability, and profitability.
His roadmap extends to 2030, with priorities including advanced electrification technologies, AI-enabled operations, and sustainable industrial growth.
Brkljačić brings experience in operations and digital transformation, having held senior roles at Tokić Ltd and Rimac Automobili.
He stated that operational excellence must scale with ambition, highlighting the importance of consistent execution and systems that support repeatable success.
Rimac Technology’s Croatian campus is operating at full capacity, with five new production lines scheduled over the next two years. The company is in advanced discussions with several OEMs on programmes spanning electric and hybrid powertrains.
Partnerships with BMW Group and Ceer Motors have already been announced, along with confidential mid- to high-volume contracts.
The company stated that the appointments follow a record year in which Rimac Technology delivered tens of thousands of battery and powertrain systems to global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), securing new programmes and showing strong operational performance.
Furthermore, Rimac is entering 2026 with several series-production projects and advanced solid-state battery technology under development.
Headquartered in Croatia, it employs more than 1,000 staff and specialises in electrification technologies, including battery systems, e-axles, and electronic components.
