This collaboration drives 2nm semiconductor advancements, marking a significant step in the global progress of AI-powered semiconductor solutions.
Quest Global has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Japan’s Rapidus Corporation, a manufacturer of 2-nanometer (nm) semiconductor solutions. This partnership positions Quest Global as a key design partner for Rapidus, leveraging its deep expertise in advanced AI chip design for high-performance, low-power applications.
The collaboration grants Rapidus access to Quest Global’s extensive global client base, enabling both companies to drive innovation in AI and silicon solutions. By combining their expertise, they aim to enhance semiconductor technology offerings for new and existing clients.
The company has a proven track record in designing ultra-low-power AI chips across multiple advanced nodes. Its chip designs power groundbreaking technologies, including AR/VR glasses, AI-driven smart helmets, wearables like smartwatches and earbuds, and computing engines for software-defined vehicles. By integrating AI algorithms with neural processing, image and video processing, augmented reality, and virtual reality, Quest Global helps clients stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
This partnership will enable customers in the automotive, high-tech, IoT, industrial, and telecommunications sectors to access AI-driven chip designs and foundry services. Rapidus is building its Rapid and Unified Manufacturing Service (RUMS) model, which shortens time-to-market by offering integrated front-end and back-end processes. With Quest Global’s design expertise and Rapidus’ manufacturing capabilities, the companies will operate as a virtual Integrated Device Manufacturer (IDM) for fabless semiconductor firms.
“As we enter the era of generative AI, the semiconductor industry must establish a seamless framework for designing and manufacturing advanced-node AI chips,” said Ajit Prabhu, Co-founder & CEO of Quest Global. “This partnership will deliver the silicon solutions that companies worldwide need, and we are honored to support Japan’s initiative to advance semiconductor technology.”
Rapidus CEO Dr. Atsuyoshi Koike added, “Quest Global’s fast design turnaround and feedback will strengthen our customer acquisition efforts. Becoming a foundry partner also gives us access to their extensive client network, making this collaboration highly beneficial for both companies.”
