ACME Solar Signs 25-Year Power Supply Deal with NHPC for 250 MW FDRE Project in Rajasthan
ACME Solar Holdings has entered into a long-term agreement with NHPC Limited, a central government public sector undertaking, to supply 250 MW of renewable power from its Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project in Rajasthan. The power purchase agreement (PPA), valid for 25 years, has been signed at a tariff of ₹4.56 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
As part of the deal, ACME Solar will maintain a minimum annual capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 40% and ensure 90% availability during peak power demand for a minimum of four hours each day. The electricity will be delivered through the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), with connectivity for the project already secured.
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved the tariff under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003, with the clearance granted on June 19, 2025. With this agreement, ACME Solar’s total portfolio of projects with signed PPAs now stands at 5,130 MW. Of this, 2,826.2 MW is already operational, while the rest is in different stages of development.
The company’s energy portfolio is primarily backed by central government buyers, accounting for 86% of its offtake agreements, with the remaining 14% tied up with state distribution companies (discoms). ACME Solar’s overall capacity stands at 6,970 MW, covering a mix of solar, wind, hybrid, and FDRE technologies.
This partnership with NHPC — a AAA-rated enterprise — reinforces ACME Solar’s position as a key player in India’s clean energy sector. It also highlights a growing focus on firm and dispatchable renewable solutions, which aim to provide round-the-clock green power, reducing reliance on conventional sources and enhancing grid stability. The move aligns with national goals to increase renewable energy adoption while ensuring energy reliability during peak demand hours.
