Aiming to electrify its iconic line up, Royal Enfield will begin global rollout of its first e-bikes in 2026, CEO Govindarajan said.
Royal Enfield, part of the Eicher Motors Group, will begin the global commercial rollout of its electric motorcycles under the Flying Flea brand in 2026, Managing Director and CEO B. Govindarajan announced at the EICMA motor show in Milan. The company showcased its second electric model, the Flying Flea S6, at the global two-wheeler exhibition as it prepares to enter the fast-evolving electric mobility segment.
“We will be into the market in 2026, first starting with the Flying Flea C6, followed by the S6,” Govindarajan said. He added that the rollout will begin in Europe, followed shortly by India.
The company’s focus, he emphasised, is on creating and growing the market for its electric motorcycles rather than chasing immediate sales volumes. “Our focus is, as of now, taking it to the market. Is there a market currently? No, but it has to be improved, and we are confident that we will grow this category in time,” he said.
Royal Enfield aims to leverage its global brand strength and legacy design to make a strong entry into the electric two-wheeler space, positioning the Flying Flea lineup as a premium offering.
Govindarajan also noted that the recent GST rate reduction has boosted overall motorcycle sales in India, with Royal Enfield selling about 2.8 lakh units during the festive period and expecting continued growth in the months ahead.
