Order to install 4.1 MW of on-grid rooftop solar systems across the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway, advancing Indian Railways’ green energy mission.
Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd has landed a ₹15.8 crore order for a 4.1 MW on-grid rooftop solar project from the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway, based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The contract includes comprehensive end-to-end execution—spanning the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning—of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across multiple locations within the Waltair Division. The project forms part of Indian Railways’ ambitious initiative to transition to clean energy and reinforce its leadership in sustainable transportation.
“This order underscores Servotech’s growing reputation as a reliable solar energy partner in India,” said Sarika Bhatia, Director, Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. “We are honored to contribute to Indian Railways’ green energy transformation and remain dedicated to delivering high-performance solar solutions that support national sustainability goals.”
The project is expected to significantly contribute to Indian Railways’ efforts to reduce its carbon footprint by integrating renewable energy into its infrastructure. It also aligns with India’s broader push toward achieving clean energy targets and enhancing energy security.
This latest win adds to Servotech’s expanding footprint in the public sector, highlighting the company’s expertise in handling large-scale solar assignments with a focus on efficiency and quality. With a rising demand for decentralized solar installations, Servotech continues to solidify its position as a key enabler of India’s renewable energy transition.
The rooftop solar systems, once operational, will help the Waltair Division cut operational energy costs and reduce dependency on conventional energy sources, contributing to a cleaner, greener railway network.
