The agreement covers semiconductor design, module assembly, microcontrollers, and optics, with focus on auto, defence, and surveillance sectors.
Six companies sign an agreement to work together on building a local semiconductor and vision systems ecosystem in India. The focus is on developing key technologies for use in vehicles, surveillance, defence, and industrial electronics.
The companies in the consortium are 3rdiTech, Kaynes Semicon, SPARSHIQ, SENSESEMI Technologies, Focally, and NXP. Together, they plan to cover the full value chain—from chip design and packaging to optics, firmware, and complete system integration.
Kaynes Semicon handles chip packaging and system assembly. 3rdiTech brings camera sensor and image processing technology. SPARSHIQ works on embedded systems and software. SENSESEMI contributes AI-enabled microcontrollers. Focally designs optical lens systems, and NXP provides globally certified automotive-grade processors.
3rdiTech is currently part of government semiconductor-related programmes, including the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, Chips to Startup, and the Ministry of Defence’s iDEX programme. The company focuses on products for defence, telecom, surveillance, and automotive sectors.
The consortium plans to build a vertically integrated value chain within India for high-reliability electronics used in connected vehicles and related systems. The companies state the initiative is intended to reduce dependency on imported components and expand local production.
The group also aims to increase alignment with ongoing public initiatives related to electronics manufacturing. Investment amounts, technology transfer details, and production timelines are not disclosed.
