A major global EV player has tapped Varroc Engineering for high-voltage electronics, securing an eight-year deal that sharpens the supplier’s push into premium e-powertrain technology.
Varroc Engineering Limited has announced a major supply contract with a global electric vehicle manufacturer, strengthening its push into high-voltage electronics for advanced e-powertrain systems.
According to reports, the deal marks a step in the company’s expansion within the electric mobility sector, which has become a central focus of its long-term growth strategy. However, the OEM’s name is yet to be disclosed.
As a part of the deal, the Pune-headquartered automotive supplier will produce a full suite of high-voltage components, including power electronics units, inverters, onboard chargers, battery management systems, and DC-DC converters.
All production will take place at Varroc’s facility in Romania, which serves as a key hub for its international electronics operations. The agreement covers an eight-year period, with peak annual revenues expected to reach ₹8 billion based on the customer’s volume projections.
The components will support high-performance electric powertrains for the unnamed EV maker. Company executives described the win as an endorsement of Varroc’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities, particularly in areas where reliability, efficiency and compliance with international standards are essential.
The partnership aligns with Varroc’s strategy to accelerate expansion in electronics, lighting and electric powertrain solutions. Over recent years, the company has increased investment in technologies linked to e-mobility, connectivity and advanced driver assistance systems.
It has also built expertise across electronics manufacturing, systems integration and design, allowing it to serve a wider range of OEM requirements.
Varroc, founded in 1988, has grown into a global tier-1 automotive supplier with 37 manufacturing plants and seven R&D centres worldwide. The company employs more than 6100 people, including over 750 engineers dedicated to research and development. It has filed more than 120 patents and reported revenue of ₹81,718 million from continuing operations in FY25.
